The Republic of Rape

“Colleague tied up, Photo Journalist was raped”

“Girl in Delhi got raped in bus and thrown out”

“Teenager abducted and raped” ……..

These headlines are never ending. On daily basis, one shall come across hundreds irrespective of paper, channel that he/she pursues for source of information happening around.

I saw three categories of people, namely Men, Woman and Rapists.

Men often accompany Women in order to protect them as a friend/brother/husband or whatever designation one likes to choose. Unfortunately, in the current scenario even they are assaulted deliberately without second thought. So I categorised rapists as third party who are existing with us in the society.

People come up with lame arguments such as “Woman dressing is the root cause”, “Woman take up risky jobs which are beyond their potential”. “Western culture influence” ……

One need to discern a point is Mankind has learnt proper dressing in last 1000 years or so. Human existed from 10,000 years or so. The age old religions and holy books teach people to respect Woman. Hinduism, one of the oldest religions treated idols of Woman as goddess and worshipped it on daily basis. Where is the aptitude of treating Woman with respect these days which even existed in Stone Age?

If we are learning everything from the West, why aren’t we paying taxes with punctuality like they do???

If harassing Woman in the form of rape a recreation, why don’t they try it with their family members? Literacy got nothing to do with this, as no education system existing today teaches how to treat woman with respect and not to rape.

I always laugh at functioning of body which is there to safe guard human rights in India; it hinders a death penalty to cold-blooded criminals in the name of Humanity and Human Right. Dear Sir/Mam, Is getting raped and physically assaulted a human right???

In such egregious situation proclamations of public representatives regarding such an issue is completely absurd irrespective of what happened. “Restriction on Woman dressing should be enacted”, “Just raped, not a murder”…………..

Dear Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and congress of so-called National leaders, Can you react the same way if your daughter/grand-daughter were raped and assaulted brutally???

Hilarious comments made by people in other countries (Western and European especially) depicting India as a place ‘unsafe for woman’. Pointed to be noted is, as per crime statistics; USA and other European countries share top ten places in frequency of rapes or attacks on Woman. In India at least the problem is being addressed, which is in even devoid in so-called developed countries.

Enact strict laws, Award merciless punishment, empower woman and serve justice to the victim. Laws must me made so that the guilty will be punished accordingly but not escape with loop holes in it.

Let us make world a better place than it is today where, a pizza or a home loan is delivered faster than first aid or justice to the Women who were being atrociously assaulted.
