Three year imprisonment; is the justice done?
Okay. My dear Indian
Law, you mean that a person gets personified of a finest human being after
serving three year sentence in jail. A person who brutally raped, sorry
tortured a woman thrusting iron rod inside her will get reformed and will be
allowed to live in the society putting lives of many other ‘Nirbhayas’ at stake.
A criminal lawyer with
a National media channel proclaims that “the person who committed the crime is
juvenile when it is done and will be punished accordingly”. Generally law in a
country is designed is to protect the citizens of the country from heinous
crimes. In India, it is amended to protect interests of few sections of society
like politicians, bureaucrats and the rich.
One of the fellows of
my peer group, Meher K posted today in fb that “I knew that Indian Law had loop
holes, now I realize it got underground tunnels to”. May be a bit of sarcasm,
but it is absolutely true.
“Political parties
doesn’t come under RTI act” Bill passed
“ABCD caste reservation”
Bill passed
“Hike in MP’s salary” Bill
passed
“Amendments in Law” no
one bats an eye because there is no useful consequence with such acts. If
Indian law is stubborn about policy matters, why are those accused in different
scams are getting bail and a common man/woman is striving hard for justice???
A renowned politician’s
grand-son in AP, enters a girl hostel with his friends who are drunk and rape a
young girl inside the hostel and eventually kill her. No one did really bother
and government is calm to protect the interests of that politician.
Shame on us, our
judiciary system failed to the core. Millions of cases pending in courts are
finest example of the existing situation.
Chinese govt. awarded
death sentence to a minister who did a 13 Million $ fraud. In India, who does a
25 billion $ scam is Prime Minister and people who are involved in other scams
are so-called Ministers. Ramifications are so clear in terms of GDP and growth.
‘Fast track courts’- the name itself is hilarious.
The cases are not even being addressed. Former victims who were focussed
recently lost hope in getting justice. In such a pathetic situation they are
urging for some basic needs like books, scholarships or financial assistance to
re-start their life
Our government never
materialized either of options mentioned above.
Juvenile:
Capable enough to rape and kill a girl. But not matured enough to be sentenced
for life imprisonment or capital punishment?
My lord, in this
sanctimonious country where women are treated as goddess in the form of idols
are not eligible for getting justice?
Is that the same
punishment you award to the rapist if the victim is your daughter or
grand-daughter?
If
at least one question mentioned above is answered by the judge, I bet he would
definitely take back his judgement.
